As you are likely aware, there is, and has been, a “little” trade war happening across the world that is impacting businesses large and small, as well as consumers, and most importantly, our lovely loyal customers.

For quite some time now, to help with reducing the financial impact to our US-based customers, we have been paying all US duties, import fees, and US tariffs, in the background, on all shipments from Canada to our US-based customers. These payments, made by us, attempt to isolate our US-based customers from this ugly trade war. The decision, to cover these costs, was a deliberate choice we made when tariffs were introduced.

As a small Canadian business, we are not at all sure if our approach can be sustained, and if so, for how long. While we continue to monitor the tariff situation daily for clarity and facts, we have made a conscious decision to continue our current approach with respect to paying all US-based import duties, fees, and tariffs.

Unfortunately, one consequence of our approach will be the suspension of freebies being included with all orders due to the order County of Origin (CoO) impact when it comes to the way duties, fees, and tariffs are calculated. We hope to revisit this at the appropriate time in the future.
